Management Framework supports JET Decommissioning and Repurposing delivery
To support programme delivery, JDR has appointed 7 companies into a Management Framework.

As JET Decommissioning and Repurposing (JDR) moves into tranche 2, the programme leadership has launched a Management Framework with seven private sector companies to support delivery with the provision of key specialist skills.
A diverse range of skills and capabilities are required to deliver a decommissioning programme such as JDR, which combines typical tasks such as building clearance and waste disposal with more bespoke challenges related to fusion and land remediation needs of Culham Campus.
Skills areas include Programme Control, Engineering Integration, Digital Capability, Logistics, Waste, Decommissioning and Handling, and Planning.
Companies within the framework are:
- Amentum
- Assystem
- AtkinsRéalis
- Cyclife
- Mott MacDonald
- Nuvia
- Vulcain Engineering Group
There are 22 individual roles within the Framework across five lots, and the framework has a total maximum spend of £9.9 million or four years’ delivery. Not every company is allocated to every lot.
The Management Framework enables rapid, compliant access to contingent labour via pre-qualified suppliers for UKAEA.
Zac Scott, JDR Director:
We have secured our funding and confirmed our scope until 2030, but four years is not a long time in decommissioning terms. The Management Framework enables us to accelerate delivery by onboarding skills & experience from the supply chain to augment our JET systems and site knowledge.
The seven companies in the Management Framework are all experts in the decommissioning field. We look forward to working with them and developing a truly collaborative approach. We will build a team that will allow us to continue progress and gather momentum.
