UKAEA wins Large Employer of the Year award
The Engineering Talent Awards 2026 recognises UKAEA's diversity and talent development in engineering and technology.
UKAEA has won the Large Employer of the Year award at the 2026 Engineering Talent Awards, run by EqualEngineers. The awards celebrate the diversity of the engineering and technology profession across the UK.
Judges recognised UKAEA for its equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies, wellbeing support, and training for apprentices and graduates.

UKAEA’s submission included a number of testimonials from members of the graduate scheme, detailing how the organisation has had a positive effect on their day-to-day working lives.
The judges remarked that:
UKAEA is showing how a large employer can lead the way in attracting, developing and supporting engineering talent.
Justin Kingsford, Chief Operating Officer, UKAEA, said:
We are obviously delighted to have been recognised by the Engineering Talent Awards, especially against some impressive competition. Over the last few years, we have invested significantly in making UKAEA a place where people feel valued, engaged, and supported at all levels.
We encourage professional training for our colleagues, along with pastoral networks which celebrate and support diversity and inclusion. We are proud to be named Large Employer of the Year.
Joe Milnes, Executive Director for Engineering, Computing and STEP Partner, said:
Over the years, we have sought to make UKAEA a welcoming environment for our engineers, no matter their background. The Large Employer of the Year Award reflects the hard work and commitment shown across the Authority, and I would like to thank colleagues, directors and managers for all their support.
Other companies in the category included Arup, BAE Systems Naval Ships, GKN Aerospace, Morson Praxis and Taylor Woodrow.
