DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the UKAEA virtual open evening. \n\n\n\nWe are hosting a virtual open evening. This is a unique opportunity to see some of our amazing work on developing sustainable fusion energy from the comfort of your own home. \n\n\n\nYou will receive an introductory talk on the basics of fusion energy. A virtual tour of the world record breaking Joint European Torus (JET) will follow. Finally\, we will introduce you to RACE (Remote Applications in Challenging Environments)\, our robotics division. This is where we develop advanced robotic systems used to maintain and operate fusion machines in environments too hazardous for people. \n\n\n\nEngineers\, scientists and technicians will lead the tours. They are are currently working on the facilities – so we guarantee a genuine insight into what it’s like to work in fusion. You will also have the opportunity to directly ask our passionate researchers anything about our work here at UKAEA. \n\n\n\nBring your questions and curiosity as you discover how we are creating star-power on Earth.
