DESCRIPTION:We’d like to invite the public to UKAEA’s open evening. \n\n\n\nOur open evenings offer you a unique opportunity to see in person some of the amazing work we are doing to develop sustainable fusion energy. You will receive: \n\n\n\n\nan introductory talk covering the basics of fusion energy\n\n\n\ntours of the world’s largest fusion experiment – the world record breaking Joint European Torus (JET) and our Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak (MAST) Upgrade\n\n\n\n\nThe tours will be led by engineers\, scientists and technicians\, who are currently working on the experiments. We guarantee a genuine insight into what it’s like to work in fusion energy. You will have the opportunity to ask our passionate researchers anything about our work here at UKAEA. \n\n\n\nBring your questions and curiosity as you discover just how on Earth we are creating star-power and see two of the leading facilities responsible for this ground-breaking research\, pushing us closer to delivering fusion energy for all. \n\n\n\nTickets will go live on Wednesday 8 July. \n\n\n\nNote: anyone attending this event needs to wear closed-toe shoes and a hard hat (a hard hat will be provided on the day). \n\n\n\nThis open evening is for the general public. If you work at UKAEA\, please sign up for the Friends and Family Open Evening instead\, which will be available to book soon. \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nYou must register by completing the registration form. We encourage you to log in to Indico (the web-based event management system hosting this site) to register.  \n\n\n\n\n\nWho can attend\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to attend with friends and family up to a maximum of 10 tickets per group. There is a minimum age limit of 12 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. \n\n\n\nThere is high demand and limited availability for tickets. Please only register if you are confident you can attend. This helps us manage resources and places effectively. \n\n\n\nTicket and key dates\n\n\n\nThis event is in person.
