SUMMARY:Tritium Training Course
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n Since its launch in April 2023\, UKAEA’s Tritium Training Course has provided world-class development to more than 250 fusion industry professionals. \n\n\n\nWe have designed this 2-day course to give participants a strong foundation in tritium science and safety\, with advanced modules covering its interaction with materials\, facility operations\, and lifecycle management. \n\n\n\nThe Tritium Training Course is at Culham Campus and includes a tour of the Active Gas Handling System\, UKAEA’s tritium processing plant. This played a vital role in the record-breaking campaigns at the Joint European Torus (JET) and continues to manage the tritium being off-gassed by the tokamak. \n\n\n\n\nThis is a paid\, in-person training course.  \n\n\n\nRegistration closes: 13 April 2026. DESCRIPTION:We’d like to invite the public to UKAEA’s open evening. \n\n\n\n Our open evenings offer you a unique opportunity to see in person some of the amazing work we are doing to develop sustainable fusion energy. You will receive an introductory talk covering the basics of fusion energy\, followed by tours of the world’s largest fusion experiment – the world record breaking Joint European Torus (JET) and our Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE). \n\n\n\nEngineers\, scientists and technicians\, who are currently working on the experiments\, will lead the tours. This guarantees a genuine insight into what it’s like to work in fusion and ask our passionate researchers about our work here at UKAEA. \n\n\n\nBring your questions and curiosity as you discover just how on Earth we are creating star-power and see two of the leading facilities responsible for this ground-breaking research\, pushing us closer to delivering fusion energy for all. \n\n\n\nPlease note anyone attending this event is required to wear closed-toe shoes and a hard hat (a hard hat will be provided on the day). \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nYou must register by completing the registration form. We encourage you to log in to Indico (the web-based event management system hosting this site) to register. \n\n\n\nWho can attend\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to attend with friends and family up to a maximum of 10 tickets per group. There is a minimum age limit of 12 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. \n\n\n\nThere is high demand and limited availability for tickets.
